Bastille Day is tomorrow.
Bastille Day commemorates the storming of the Bastille and the institution of the modern French nation. Fireworks will explode over the Eiffel Tower and the French people will dress in their own version of patriotic blue, white & red. In celebration, I am posting some French & French-inspired celebrities demonstrating French fashion as well as some everyday Parisiennes. The fashion parade is followed by a simple French feast to be enjoyed outdoors (preferably on French bistro chairs). And finally, some French-inspired clothing selections on sale now to add a little flair de la France into your wardrobe!

Le Menu
(I made this Ina Garten recipe as a treat for my parents on a weeknight once and it was a hit!)
Olives
The mother of the French family I lived with in high school used to make this for lunch. She would buy fresh bread and we would eat it for lunch in the garden.
Macarons
The region in the South of France where the family I stayed with spent their summers was famous for this cake and we would get it frequently from the local bakery. I brought one home to my family from that particular bakery but it was not quite as fresh after ten hours of traveling. I found a comparable recipe on NPR.
Red Wine because even when it's hot outside, red is better
